Bruce Hood & Michael Brooks

What's the talk about?

This event is now SOLD OUT. The venue only has a limited capacity, so I am afraid if you do not have a ticket we will not be able to let you in. If you do have a ticket, but cannot go, please get in contact with me - heather.doran at dunelm dot org dot uk and we can give your ticket to someone else.

Why are we interested in the unexplainable? Should we be? In this special Skeptics in the Pub event, Professor of psychology and author Bruce Hood will join physicist and author Michael Brooks to discuss belief in the unbelievable and what we can learn from the unexpected. An informal evening with lots of opportunity for audience discussion.

This event is FREE, but booking tickets is strongly advised. You can book tickets here, ...via the Word programme:

Both Bruce and Michael will be speaking at Word about their recent books, and you can get tickets for their respective events here too:

There's tonnes of other awesome speakers at Word, many with a science theme (including Ian Stewart, co-author of many of the Science Of Discworld books with Terry Pratchett, including the awesome Darwin's Watch) - So go raid the program and support this awesome festival! :D

Many, many thanks to Word Festival and the University of Aberdeen for supporting this event
